Is your system - journey fairly complete, satisfied, time to stop messin' , too busy enjoying the music ?
Nearly there ? or still some way to go ?

It depends. Vinyl wise, I am pretty happy. Yes, a great MC would be good, but risky...
Digital wise, sometimes I am happy, sometimes I wonder what a Benchmark DAC3 would sound like in comparison to my Caiman SEG.

I am pretty settled with the system now, must get around to selling some of the 'upgrade path' items no longer needed. The most recent uplift in vinyl reproduction is a new 'mat'. It has been very surprising in how much fine detail has been uncovered that I have been missing up to now.

The next 'thing' is always a temptation, especially the revised/'improved' version of what you have and already enjoy. Case in point, the moment I managed to scrape up the funds for my Spendor D7's (which i enjoy a great deal), they brought out the revised D7.2 which I now hanker for - damn !

Is their an MM you really enjoy, could you not go down the path of its MC equivalent ? It was my love for the 2MBlack which took me to my first MCs, which were Ortofons MC equivalents, if you know what I mean.

New filter design to add to the mains conditioning. Second MC3+ added in series. Just building a new QP-2 to power both Mutec's New streamer design using AI style data transfer New ENDD earth noise remover after several trails in going in the main system. New dac around June when I have finished all the other projects!! Finally make the remaining cabling to BD Max spec.

So far then I'm super happy with the vinyl front and that wont be going anywhere that I can imagine, brings much satisfaction.
Digital side is where changes will defo occur. I'm done with nice vintage cdp's no matter how regarded they are. It's time to move on there so I'll be going the stand alone cd transport, coupled with a good DAC route and see how I like that. When that happens I'll report back on my findings.

A few things this year but nothing major - I prefer listening nowadays (plus other things get in the way)

Nothing much planned really, just waiting for this lockdown to end so I can get my other Krell back and then that should be main system done.
Maybe my Tannoy Ardens will turn up this year, but then I said that last year. And I want some Yamaha NS1000M for the telly system, just because I've always wanted some.
That's it really. Might look at getting some more of the Black Tulip system together but that's on the back-burner for now.

Going to change my entire system soon apart from the speakers, which are not going anywhere. New speaker cables are definitely on the wish list. I was going to tramp round the dealers to hear before buying but the lockdown has put paid to that notion. Went to Richer Sounds the other day just to be nosey and wasn't allowed in. "You will find all our products on the website" I was told, but "How do I judge picture quality between the brands on your website?" was my reply. The man was lost for words so he retreated back into the shop without saying another word. Fine, my business will go elsewhere then. Still undecided about having another integrated amp or go for pre and power pairing. My mate says a Hegel should be worth a look, but the bass is a bit TOO tight for my liking. I like the Mytek Brooklyn power amp but having trouble finding a good pre to go with it. Oddly enough, the Yamaha integrated I have now actually sounds a lot better than people might think, so dismiss them too easily.
I'm going to buy another turntable just to play the handful of vinyl I still have, so a cheap second hand one will suffice. The hardest choice at the moment is finding a new quality CD spinner. The AVI spinner I have now sounds great but every now and again the audio output shuts down and I have to power it off for a couple of hours to get it working again. Don't really want another second hand player to be honest. I hate with a passion the slot loading players which one day will refuse to spit the CD out or just not load. Hateful bloody things

Half the price of my Tenuto yeah, in the bigger picture £150 isn't that horrific.

Phonostage - I've done. Pre-amp - 90% happy with
Turntable - A few tweaks, new plinth with decouple motor and armpod. - About 80% happy with
Power amp - It's a decent amp, but always fancied STA100 monoblocks! - About 80% happy with
So yeah nearly finished.

This year, I'll be doing very little.
The AWM Buffer Preamp will be put in its proper casework with an Avalon Phonostage. A project 12-18 months in the making but we're talking measurements that make this a reference Phonostage In The true sense of the word.
I will also be rebuilding my own BB3 seeing as I still haven't done it yet. This one will be the most accurately made Phonostage I've ever built. 0% tolerance resistors in every position, 0% tolerance signal caps, 0% tolerance Jfets......you name it, I'm going to do it. I'm not changing the brand of Resistors BTW, they are perfect for this application.
Oh, and digitally matched Valves....... apparently.
The system is singing sweetly as is with the Soekris and the N15D, and apart from maybe building XOs with Angus for the Yamahas and trying a few new lengths of cable, I'll be spending my money elsewhere.
I am extremely happy with the level of performance.

Finish my Tannoys, build a Lenco. Avoid (probably unsuccessfully) going into a digital wormhole 🤪

Well I SHOULD be finished with my system build having made massive changes in the last 18 months. Phono: MFA sut + mm stage in MasterSound PHL5 Pre > MFA + Tron Seven Basic mm > Tron Seven Ultimate > BB3. Pre: PHL5 > MFA Baby Reference V1. Tonearm: Encounter 3C > Conquorer 3C > 12" Enterprise Mk4. Cartridge: Sumiko Pearwood > Transfiguration Axia S > Hana ML > Koetsu Black Gold Line > Koetsu Rosewood Signature Platinum. Node2: Pimped Jolida Glass fx Dac: Bought & Pimped. HOWEVER,I keep looking at the MFA Baby Reference V2 and wondering what could be, and will probably get JB to send me a loan unit to try, to see if it,s really as good as it's supposed to be. If it is then like ALL my purchases I will be hunting out a sensibly priced used unit. The one thing I know I'm not finished with is speakers,I'd like a new pair of Quad 2912 or what ever the latest iteration is when I have the funds and the right room for them to do their magic.

I would like to change the pre and power amps (but use the existing pre for headphone duties) Would like a Tenuto for the SP-10
One of Oli's new phono stages and also a new hifi rack.
Plus a bigger house so my music room could be bigger (that will never happen though)

I now have an Ortofon Vienna, an Avalon and a set of Q Acoustics Concept 500's, Townsend bars, full loom of PC-TRIPLE C cabling and Digibit aria streamer, new linear power supply for the Soekris, new mains block and shifted the piano out .....I didnt plan on any of that lol. Glad I did it though, as the results have been beyond what I thought I could accomplish in this space. I wonder what I'll do next year 🤣
