Hi all, Just joined up having stumbled across this forum while searching for details on the Bigbottle Mk3 phono stage, which I had seen recommended on another forum whilst I was researching valve based phono stages. The HiFi bug bit me about nearly 25 years ago now, and I’ve been geeking and tweaking ever since. I’m mainly into rock/indie/alternative but with a little bit of most other things sprinkled in. I like a vivid, dynamic sound with the energy of a live performance. I think that if you have that then you have music, and you aren’t thinking about the ‘HiFi’ niceties. My current kit consists of: Lounge: Clearaudio Performance DC/Clarify/Ortofon Cadenza Bronze > NJC SUT > NJC Phono Pre | Audiolab 6000CDT | OPPO UDP-203 (Roon) >> Lyngdorf TDAI-2170 >> Dynaudio Special Forty & 2*Lyngdorf BW-2 Conservatory: LG 65C9 | OPPO UDP-203 (Roon) | Sky Q 2TB | Apple TV4K >> Arcam FMJ AVR390 >> 5 * AVI DM5 & 2* BK P12-300SB Having been mightily impressed reading through the Bigbottle Mk3 build thread, I’ve ordered one from @bigman80 . Can’t wait (although I’m going to have to )to see what a top notch valve preamp can do for my vinyl front end! Cheers Dan

Hi Dan,
welcome to AA.
I have heard the Dynaudio Special Forty speakers - very nice and I am sure the Ortofon Cadenza Bronze sounds rather good too?
You have certainly landed at the right place for all thing BB3!

Hi Dan, welcome to AA. I have heard the Dynaudio Special Forty speakers - very nice and I am sure the Ortofon Cadenza Bronze sounds rather good too? You have certainly landed at the right place for all thing BB3! Thank you! Yes the Bronze is great. I was using a Clearaudio Concept MC before and it’s noticeably better in every way, but I still feel it has more to give and I’m finding the loading through the SUT is very hit and miss and hard to settle on which value is best. What sounds great on one day can seem off (in either direction) the next. So I have high hopes for the BB3, and from what I’m reading I’m sure I’ll be delighted! Cheers Dan

Cheers Dan I have had many MC catridges in the past and could never find head amps or SUTs that worked well in combination. I think the BB3 will work very well indeed with the Cadenza Bronze.

Welcome to the forum Dt, I would call you Dan, but I don't know you well enough yet. As for me, you can call me Antonio or Dave.

Welcome Dan You are in for a total treat with the BB3. It’s given my vinyl listening habits a new lease of life.
Interesting you have 2 Lyngdorf BW-2’s. I’ve been eyeing these up to couple with my TDAI 2200 and Harbeth P3ESR’s. Well.. probs only one, but I’m missing low level stuff and can’t/won’t be changing the stand mounts. Cheers Steve

Cheers Steve Thanks Steve. Great to see another Lyngdorf owner on here! The BW-2s are great, they’ve made such a difference, and with Room Perfect the integration is utterly seamless. The great thing about using BW-2s with a TDAI is that you use the by-pass input on the sub and it by-passes all the sub’s internal crossover circuitry and everything is controlled by the DSP in the amp, so you have a very direct signal path. I managed to grab a bargain on a second hand pair. One should be fine it you can position again the front wall in between your speakers.
