so now we know.
My brother has a similar thing that he insists on deploying when we have a barbeque. It's diabolically bad, I mean unlistenable. No idea what make it is.

had to then switch off and convert to listening from YouTube through a Anker Soundcore Flare Mini.I've no idea what that is but I'm guessing it's bad. I believe you can get a good cream for that from the local pharmacy.

You need someone to rub it on for you since it's in an awkward place.

My photo you put on for me has disappeared from easy viewing, can still click on the tiny box and see it though, just thought I'd let you know just in case you wanted a second look at how sexy those speaker cables are, and also to ogle the mini flare Just seen this today for anyone interested in a bluetooth speaker, and this is really a bargain price www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325012496321?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item4bac411fc1:g:WtMAAOSwWell took my speakers and cable to the guy repairing the amp for checking, and he says it is fine, he has changed the resistor again just in case. I've been listening for a couple of hours and it sounds great, really am pleased with these 6550 tubes, sweet, detailed and everything I hoped they'd be.

Well I can certainly say I've enjoyed this small system I've put together over here, but tomorrow the amp and speakers are to be boxed up and taken to Fed Ex for them to look at. They have asked if there are any batteries inside these items, I have said no, the only concern is the magnet in the speakers, they say one airline refused speakers because of this. May I ask someone with more knowledge than me how strong will the magnets be inside these small speakers kjfaudio.com/product/cesti-mbr/ I got turned down at the Post Office (EMS) because of the magnets, and Thailand would most likely refuse them at the airport? they would have been the cheapest. I am however still awaiting a quote from UPS, DHL are unbelievably expensive.

Anyone any clue regarding the strength of the magnets inside speakers?

Anyone any clue regarding the strength of the magnets inside speakers? They are the only things that keep the earth in orbit, that strong.

But are they going to cause a problem, these things must get air freighted sometimes, not everything going by sea or land. I had them shipped here by UPS, air freight.

They won't cause any problem but if they want the strength in Gauss or something I've no idea how you would get that info.

I would contact Mark Audio and ask. They may have already done air freight, and they may have the supporting documentation already available.

Thanks Kevin, never thought of that, the only problem is it is 4.20pm, in the uk. I have sent them an email, they may or may not see it, but I have made an appointment with Fed Ex for tomorrow morning.

The speakers do not have a massive throw, and use lightweight drivers, so they should be ok. How do the courier companies measure the strength?

Well I've had a busy few days sorting out everything for my return to the uk. Luckily a friend is storing some stuff for me under his bed, simply got too much to bring home in one go. My speakers were sent by FedEx and arrived in the uk earlier today, not bad 9 days from Cambodia to the uk, unfortunately they would not accept my amplifier, this as to be shipped using a cargo plane which means using DHL. The cost is too great from Cambodia, $720, but the price from Thailand would be $350 so when I come back here I will have to return via Thailand, travelling overland, and have it shipped from there. Looking forward to hearing my brothers system again and also listening to some vinyl through my NVA kit, what I'm not looking forward to is the bloody weather and the continuing bad news you get every day on the tv.

I arrive at Heathrow on Thursday at 7.10am.
Phnom Penh to Singapore 2hrs 15mins
Singapore to Dubai 8hrs
Dubai to Heathrow 7hrs
Nearly 3hrs in Singapore and just over 2hrs in Dubai so not too bad.

Are you now "a lot closer to home"?
If you are, you will need a new thread. 🙃
