Good job you dont write for the hifi mags or press. Having to buy a new copy of your Clapton album after using the cleaner isnt a great advert for the solution
I think I am sadly with the few who have noticed the HUGE rip off price for the quantity you get. This stuff is not made from liquid moondust so someone is having a laugh!

I paid nearly £15 for 30ml of a large multinational companies beard oil yesterday. I'm ok without it.....If i want flakes of dry skin dropping out of my beard. However, if I want a nice lustrous beard, with the skin underneath kept nice and healthy, there is a price to pay and my weapon of choice isn't cheap. That isn't made from the tears of the angel Gabriel either, so quite why that's so expensive is a mystery, But you have to remember that Simon is a human, like us, who probably isn't able to buy the fluids, bottles and labels in the quantity needed to get that price down. R&D, time, expense for previous mixes that may not have made it to the final product, containers, labels, postage, other people to pay (I'd have thought) for their expertise in developing the fluid.......it all adds up. I'm not convinced it's a rip off. It's not cheap, but I didn't look at the price of it prior to the review, I just tested it for it's purpose and it was the best of the 4 I tried. The new LP was due to the condition of the LP. The LP has been cleaned with 5 different cleaners and sounds like Snap Crackle and pop are having a party on there.

Don’t think the price is that bad, considering you can make a litre of solution up from what you get. That’ll do a fair few records.

I agree with you on price for a bottle of water mixed with isopropyl, basically you're just paying for shipping, and more than once if its an imported brand.
Our reagents are made for us, nothing is off the shelf. Add in the cost of bottles, labels, packaging, website hosting, public liability, the hundreds of hours Greg has put into R&D and you still only end up with a user cleaning cost of around 10p per record on the small bottles, and about 7p per clean record for the 100ml bottle of E3.
What do people think, is the cost of a decent album too much to be able to restore the sound to the best part of 500 albums?

I think the price is competitive with the other cleaners on the market. I’ll be giving it a go once I move and can finally get my vinyl set up again.

I don't think the price needs any defence, personally, but I have the effects of using it still pleasing my eardrums. I think I'll have to drop a bit on Jim's vinyl and see what he thinks then!

Price looks fine to me, at the end of the day no one is forcing anyone to buy it.

Is there a teenage DAC on your estate, or is someone running from their DAC?

To be fair, my comment on the prices was based without looking at similar products. My mistake.
L'art du son is about £32 for 5 litres. This is a little more expensive at £50 for 5 litres.
A quick search shows that there are plenty of mire expensive products available.

No one's buying 5 small 20ml bottles at £50 when the 100ml bottle is £30...
One of the main reasons for making E3 Record Cleaner was that Greg was sick of his L Art du Son going cloudy before he could use it all.

So it just goes to show it is competitively priced, and I was wrong - as I tried to say in my previous post.

One of the main reasons for making E3 Record Cleaner was that Greg was sick of his L Art du Son going cloudy before he could use it all. I was going to ask if it went cloudy, as I would not use it up quickly. There is no way I would clean 50 records in one hit. Are international postage rates listed on the website?

No intl postage listed currently. It'd be more than the product in many cases.

Usually for intl orders I just bung 5x 20ml bottles in the post, for Europe and US its the same airmail cost for 5x 20ml as the 100ml is UK post. Contact me if you want intl shipping we can work it out. Reviewing E3 is catching on, this time Adam Hammond who blogs as HiFiAF has been testing E3 Enzymatic record cleaning solution against a rather complicated blend recommended by reviewer Paul Rugby. See the results at www.hifiaf.com/analogue-alchemist-e3/

Yes, I am back in the land of employment from next week. In the meantime I have a load of client stuff to finish off and a fair bit of freshening up to do. idle hands. Never the less here's something for the TT users amongst us. Here you go. A Link to a Free Stylus Overhang template, download, print @100%, cut out inside the centre box. Slip a couple of records over the spindle to raise it up so you don't bash your cart off the spindle. www.analoguealchemist.co.uk/post/a-free-stylus-overhang-adjustment-templateDon't forget, some TT's have magnetic spindles. This image isn't to scale, you need to follow the link to dopwnload the pdf..
