hi mate oh i forgot that one very very good point we have very few very rich people here..the divide between stinking rich and poor is small..you both work you live a good life.. the swedish tax system makes it very hard to get rich anyway..50% income tax if you're self employed for starters. you earn over 65k a year you'll pay over 50% tax aswell. the system here is fekin awesome. 95% of us here all live the same all have nice houses..the only difference is the slightly richer ones ,or they dont care having 400k mortgages, live closer to cities. lowest paid here will take home 1.4k a month. so 2 of you 2.8k..school leavers that start work will be on that..16 year old kids on 1.4k a month...imagine that in the uk lol? i know apprentices that have their own houses lol..ok 1 hour from town. we also have no council tax...just water sewage and bin remove costs.
ofc no place on earth is perfect unless you're bill gates..but for normal people sweden cant be beat imho..i'm a floor fitter.the wife a nurse..we got a new 4 bved bungelow all paid off in 10 years..new car cash ofc.. would never happen in the uk.. i earnt 43k last year just fitting floors ffs.
now there is one small problem living here
if you want say me or a carpenter for a day..i'e hire us through a company you will pay about 500 quid a day just labour costs lol..this is why if you live in a house here you have to be good with your hands. so basically u want a carpenter for a week you'll pay over 2.5k for the privalge. companies here have to charge that coz running a company here costs the bosses a fortune.. my 2 bosses live the same as me btw..normal houses normal cars..neither are rich

Too many minimum wage (less than £8 per hr.) and zero hour contract jobs in the uk. Ltd companies only interested in shareholders payments. I remember many years ago watching a tv programme about German companies. A good portion of profits were held back for expansion, no need to go cap in hand to banks for loans. Very short sighted in the uk, everything for the fast buck, and of course the government back this up.

Council Tax Ian one of the biggest scandas of the U.K. Education and social care should not be funded from local taxation. That knocks a big hole in it straight away. Secondly, they pulled a flanker when scrapping the rates and bringing in the Poll Tax, the majority of local Government spending used to come from the Buisness Rate, not the Domestic rate. The shift to Poll tax, rebalanced this and transferred the greater burden onto individuals rather than businesses. When we went to Council Tax, the burden was transferred to homeowners.
Central Governmmet dictates so much of education Andy social care policy, it’s only right that it’s funded From there IMO.

Very short sighted in the uk, everything for the fast buck, and of course the government back this up. I remember Gordon Brown making a campaign slogan out of “work must pay”. I liked that a lot. Then he made it more profitable to stay at home and breed prolifically! I soon realised that he only had half a good slogan! Nobody on benefits should be anywhere near as well off as a worker, There is a big imbalance in the U.K. just waiting to be addresssed. Let’s hope it is before the takers outweigh the providers, because it will soon be impossible to win an election with policies Britain needs.

Morning Rudi, that's a nice distance to be from the capital, far enough away yet only 1 hr. when you need something special.
