Things seem different here in France. Quite a few kids out playing, as I don't think computer gaming is accepted by the family. My teenage nephews know that there is a time and place for gaming, but family comes first.

On R4 a while back David Mitchell was talking about 'kids today'. 'When I was young, I didn't sit at home all day with the curtains drawn playing computer games. I sat at home all day with the curtains drawn watching the television.'

He's younger than us though. There was no tv worth watching on in the daytime when I was a youth. Once the kiddy shows finished just before midday and you'd had five mugs of tea and ten rounds of toast and jam you were out on your bike or kicking a footy about (cricket in the summer ofc). Like you were going to stop in and watch the news and then 'Take The High Road' or some equally dismal shite.
I did use to watch 'The Sullivans' though but that was only twice a week.

I used to catch the end of 'Peyton Place' when I get back from school. That had Mia Farrow in it.

housework all done ofc sun is shining off in the garage to oil my clutch and throttle cables on me bike. i use a plastic bag with a small hole in it then wound with string tightly around it making a funnel for the oil to flow through over a few hours. makes the controls so smooth.
my rock n roll lifestyle aye?

Me? I don’t miss the U.K. especially with that Brexit malarkey going on. I am not far off fluent in French. Yes, I work here. I play with aeroplanes for a living.

Nice work on your sons bike by the way, sorry I'm not mechanically minded but you seem to know what you're doing. Just had my second up of coffee (Morrisons Italian blend - very nice since I like my coffee strong) with toast & marmalade. You gonna be kicking your heels now the jobs are done? For me, Glorious Goodwood starts today for 5 days, one of the best horse race meetings on the calendar.

Never missed Greggs, as the cakes and bread are far better here. I don’t miss seaside towns either. I always found them a bit tacky, as they evolved to serve the holidaying public.
