My first thought when I saw the hole you've dug was it would be easier to just put a bucket in and fill it with water. Looking at your second photo, you've got a lot of digging to do. Why not get a small digger, much easier.

Explosives are the solution to many of life's problems. Works wonders on cash machines, thus saving you the trouble of earning it. Only problem you cant brag from the roof tops over and over again, day after day,how much you earned in a day.

Mere scratch.
Back in 1999 I bought a house in cornwall and hand dug a pond hole that was 20 feet long, 12 feet wide and 6 feet deep to hold all my koi carp. That would have been hard enough on level ground, but the garden was on a slope so I had to create a bank to make the pond level, then a second smaller pond "uphill" of around 8 foot by 8 foot by 2 foot deep as a green filter filled with aquatic plants. Sticky clay and some realy big boulders had to be hauled out of that hold and it could only be done at the weekends before moving house. I was knackered after 2 months of that.
On the day of the move I had to bag up all my fish and hope that 4 hours of travelling down to cornwall would go smoothly. They all survived OK but one bag was totally red with blood and I thought the poor bugger had expired. yet into the pond it went with no signs of distress.

Now I can see where the waterfall will go, and why there is the deep part. What you doing with the fence? Does I ave to be fenced off for safety or something?
