I've got 65 weeks to retirement. I've made a little chart so I can cross them off.

I admire your work ethic. No kids here, so my price for hanging up my gloves is a lot lower. I do want to leave a worthwhile amount for charities, but a nice house in the sun and enough cash to see me through are all I’m seeking. And a right to settle in the sun without loads of visa and residency hassles. I wouldn’t give a Sh#t about Brexit if I’m allowed to keep my EU citizenship. Even if we come out, there will inevitably be legal challenges from those of us who didn’t want to lose those rights and the free movement that came with them.

His garage was inside his pad. He got out of his muscle car and he was inside his home. Way cool.

DAMN HARD WORK..even if you had say 10 million quid in the bank you still got work hard everyday..100 million ofc not. Nonsense. You can if you want to, of course, but you haven't got to work with ten million in the bank. Hell, you could buy a dozen houses in prosperous areas, live off the rental income and still have a huge capital asset.

I doubt we spend more than 10k a year so we’d hardly need a million to live well for life. We don’t drink, smoke, or drive a car, it’s hard to see why we’d need loads of cash. I’m not into designer clothes or anything either. T shirt and shorts is as much as I need. For me, all you get here is your time. The rest is on loan. I’ve never been one to sell it too cheaply.

not about the money about having a reason to get up everyday..when you've been working non stop almost every day for 41 years then work is in ya dna lol.- i could stop work today and leach off the wife..would never happen. even mortgage free and her 60k a year salary i still need to push forward. i want to be comfortable when i do retire..nice lump of cash to fall back on. plus i got 2 sons who need my help..i'de go insane just sitting home everyday. saving about 4000 quid a month is a nice feeling i tell you. i have huge motivation to pull in money now i'm not slaving away for any bank. we get paid today. 99% of sweden does on the 25th..marie will be putting around 4k direct into our savings this morning..not many even have 4k in the bank let alone save that monthly ffs. double garage with living space. new camaro villa in spain. my salary for the next 11 years is all taken care of i rekon. right work time ffs. 400 quid today again i rekon

I agree. Work is a bad habit but it's difficult to break. This must be that Protestant work ethic that people talk about. I gave up work without a second thought and have never missed it. I'd have given it up even sooner if possible.

I've got 65 weeks to retirement. I've made a little chart so I can cross them off. After 5 years of retirement I can highly recommend it Martin. It’s great being able to do what you want to do with the day & holiday as often as you like (only Butlins & Barbados booked so far with the possibility of a Florida trip at some stage). Sorry, I’ll stop thread crapping now.
