What old and ancient cartridge artifacts have you rediscovered and how are you finding them? Any gems you have forgotten about or absolute Donkeys you would never touch again?
Recently I have retried the 2M Red and Nottingham analogue Tracer 3, what about you?
How do they sound?

I know it's old haha. The suspension seems sound though. Nice and responsive. The packaging puts a few modern carts to shame .

Just dug out my old Nagaoka MP-10 and mounted it to a spare Lenco headshell. I am going to wait for the ordered batteries for the stylus scale before I try it out.

One of the best carts I ever had was an eBay random purchase of a GAS 2-MF. A cheapo mm cart. I only bought it as GAS is/was a legendary American amp company - Great American Sound - Ampzilla, Son of Ampzilla. Their usual cartrdige line was quite high end MCs so I figured that a mm cart rebadged by them might be interesting, and boy was I right. Without doubt one of the best carts I have heard, probably the most natural. It just had a magic musical rightness to it. I was usually a MC fan, favouring Dynavector and Ortofon I think I paid £15 or so. Sadly, after a few months the diamond fell off! I should have got it re-tipped. I did manage to identify its original make/model, but I forget what it was. Micro Seiki? A few mentions of it on this thread -- www.vinylengine.com/turntable_forum/viewtopic.php?t=100274

Aha, thanks Oli. If I was still into vinyl I'd defo get another one just to see what the hell so impressed me with it! It just looks like a standard low end mm, doesn't it.

Batteries for scale have arrived, so I have set it up and tested it. It works fine but is a bit dull in comparison to my usual MC. Good to have a spare though for unforeseen circumstances.

I was hoping you'd be twanging yer braces extolling it's virtues. Some years ago someone brought it to the attention of AOSers when it was discounted on eBay and a load of us got one. Mine's still in the box. I think it was £15.
