Late last year I was tasked with building a custom power supply for an SC22 preamp, for a customer who has a Series 5 STA25 that lacks the necessary octal socket. The supply provides the heater and HT voltages, as well as switching mains to a power amp. Normally, an SC22 connects to an STA15/25 via an octal umbilical cable as was common in the era. In its original arrangement It can also remotely switch the amp on via a switched live that goes to and from the SC22. The implementation of this leaves much to be desired so I opted to keep mains entirely out of the SC22. Instead of a live feed to the SC22, the switch normally used for mains simply switches a 12V two-pole relay (fed via a floating Class II SMPS), which in turn switches the amp via the box, which is a standard case available from RS (unfortunately they seem to have discontinued them since!) The pictures don't quite show it in its finished state, in its final form all the sections of casework had dedicated PE connections plus a few other changes.

Early in the year I was tasked with procuring and servicing a very rare pair of MA15s! Unfortunately they had been previously worked on so they ended up needing a fair bit more work than anticipated including all new valve socket wiring, new impedance selector switches, a few components replacing and de-bodging in a few places. MA15s are pretty rare compared to the STAs.
