On another forum I visit, there was talk about Oreo isolation feet. Having some to hand, I decided to give them a go under my DAC. They made very little difference to the presentation IMHO. The music didn’t sound any sweeter.

I will need to check. Uneven lengths. Probably 1m + 3M, but I need to measure it.

I'd be interested in a listen to that stuff, but in truth any gold plated cable I have heard has had a kind of softness about it. I heard of ELF cables about 3 years ago but had forgotten about them. I'll revisit their stuff thanks to your post, Dave. Thanks! 😊

18 AWG seems a little bit small for a speaker cable to me, but thanks fort he link.
Out of interest Dave, what YTTCG speaker cable did you buy?

The SFW cable review I saw said they made no difference compared to the Blue-jeans cables he uses. That is Belsen cable. I am nervous about buying OCC cable from AliExpress, as there is a lot of fake cables around. How can you tell if it is OCC cable? I don’t have a microscope powerful enough to do it myself....

Couldn't agree more, sometimes on the ad it says OCC, then reading further down, it is only part of the cable, the rest OFC. One seller, whom I have never purchased from, but I get a feeling they are honest is Audiomeca. I would have liked to try their power lead, and since I first saw it they have introduced two more which are more expensive, and although OCC is in the ad, when reading the details it is the Live & Neutral that are OCC, the earthing will be OFC. Here's a link to the cheaper cable I liked, and although they don't have many products it is easy for you to look. I have to pay a shipping fee to Cambodia, but if I change it to the UK it's free. www.aliexpress.com/item/4000749440018.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000060.1.447352907YXwMm&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreThisSeller&scm=1007.13339.169870.0&scm_id=1007.13339.169870.0&scm-url=1007. This shop sells some quite expensive cables: www.aliexpress.com/item/4001029100489.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.29.78a57db8cDLM6N

It’s 2.5mm. A pretty heavy gauge interconnect. Solid core is not a problem to make an IC from.

You can make an interconnect from a coat hanger. It's been done.

The reason I asked, I haven't been able to find another suitable cable except a Chinese coaxial one, and thought I could order one extra metre to use as 1/2m interconnects. Anybody using OCC interconnect cabling, a link would be appreciated.

I use the Neotech stuff. The last one I bought came from HiFi collective. It was a bit expensive, as it is the silver version.

The outside diameter of the Neotech NEI-3004 is the same as the Acoustic Revive cable I mentioned earlier.

Yes, but the CSA of the conductors is smaller. Give the cable you suggested a try, it may work well, if the RCA connectors will fit.

Any ideas of who actually made this valve? It is branded as an ERA, and is a PCC88. It looks a little bit Siemens/Telefunken is style, but I doubt it is for what they cost me. It also has a code M9GMLF9 on the side.

Not the Viborg ones, no. The second link does not work. I did think about spades, as the contact area is bigger.

I had thought of the spades working loose, would be easy for me to check on the tightness behind the amp from time to time, I've got easy access since the equipment is not in a rack. I found the first link did not work, just sends you to AliExpress, it was only of the Viborg banana plugs: www.aliexpress.com/item/832111006.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.

I dont use those anymore, as the little spring arm that gives a tight fit weakens and they also start to work loose. Currently trying some other out and they have been fine so far. I do have my eye on some other though and will try them out when I can.
