Acoustic Dimension are still listing the 100K non motorised, so I would have thought a motorised is possible. Perhaps a special request now?

They only have one 10K motor version in stock.
Their supplier has too much work of their own, and has stopped accepting the acoustic dimension orders.

That sounds like a brexit related casualty to me. However, I may be on to a solution for you. Hold for for now. EDIT - Just seen the price........buy the TKD

Id rather get up and manually use a Stepped Attenuator than use a potentiometer with or without a remote.

Kevin I have a 100K Acoustic Dimension. The project I am intending to use it in could use a 10K, could we do some sort of swap?

Anybody have any thoughts on how I could exchange a SA with Alan, legally avoiding VAT and duty on the retail price? Is it possible?
I am guessing that the easiest way is for Alan to buy direct from the vendor, so he gets the VAT free price, and pays the VAT and duty on import.
If my volume pot on my Kin was broken, would Alan be able to send me a replacement part at no cost so no VAT was payable, or do you have to be a registered business to make use of this process?
Or do I have to accept that the 100k pot will be about 20% more expensive?

You can also return a faulty part as part of the same exchange Send your faulty item to Alan, Alan then sends the replacement part.

Don't you have to be a registered business to do this?

People have been charged VAT and Duty on presents sent to family members so I don't think there's any legal way around it. Obviously if it is second hand it's worth less and so a lower value could legitimately be entered into the declaration form for calculation of VAT. But I think duty is a fixed rate, not dependent on value.

There's no duty to and from EU, just VAT.
Duty is a percentage of value, not a flat rate.

I have been looking for some UP-OCC speaker cables, and at the moment, I have not found anything I am willing to pay the price for. Any recommendations for a good speaker cable?

Kevin
I am not a fan of TQ cables, however the Blue (2) speaker cable for the outlay is damn fine (Around £20 @m) we not sell TQ cables, but the Blue is surprising good for the small outlay.

I have finally completed the signal path inside my 686 with OCC cabling, swapping out the pre-crimped cables I bought from Tom. Has it made a difference? No idea. I can’t remember exactly how it sounded before.
It still sounds very good.

I have OCC in mine too.

You could argue we have OCD about the OCC?

I already have the Neotech Silver OCC in some of my ICs. It is not cheap, but why worry about it? It is fitted with Aeco silver plugs.

This last week, I feel like I am being invaded. I have wild boar coming in the garden at night and making a right mess of the grass. I need a rifle and a night sight to sort this one out. Then I had the main breaker trip today. Further investigation has lead to finding a mouse in one of the traps, near where the circuit protected by the fuse that causes the breaker to trip. Looks like the little bugger has nibbled at a cable before he fancied a bit of dairy milk.
It has been about two years since I had a mouse in the house. Why have they come back in during spring? Little b*st*rds.

A cat will sort out the meeces. It's not like in the cartoons, the meeces have no chance.
If you don't have a rifle then you could dig a pit to trap the boar. Don't know what you could sell a live one for but I had it in a restaurant once and it was bloody expensive.

Trapping it alive is the last thing on my mind. They can be pretty vicious, especially a mother when with her babies....
I have actually installed a battery powered PIR alarm in the garden, hoping that the noise will scare it off without me having to try and kill it.

I figured that if it is trapped in a pit it can't do any harm and then you just call your local boar-bloke and he comes and sorts it out, gives you a few bob for the carcase.
There's a Bear Grylls episode where he traps and kills one, think he uses a snare and then stabs it to death with a spear. It is really vicious though.
