A true Rasta is about peace and love and as Bob would say it's not a black and a white thing but a Rich and Poor thing.

If you ain't got nothing nice to say, shut yer gob. Very sage advice, and where reggae is concerned I shall follow it.

Yeah he's probably the best. Stick with him. You don't need to go any deeper. Pass the duchie is his best one.

A really excellent bit of Rocksteady from 2016 Brooklyn based The Frightners. Tragically the lead singer died just as the band began to find success. This is the title track from their excellent debut.

More modern Rocksteady again from 2016. Honey from Drum & Bass star Shy FX featuring the excellent Kiko Bun on vocals.

Dreads don't get any more natural than mine. I got bad news for ya, Jez. That ain't no way natural dreads. That's a bad perm , and a really bad dog eared braid...and an even badder shirt ! 😯 I'm disappointed . Oldest swinger in town that is , not Rastamon . . 😁 . .

Just playing some Reggae tonight and it brought back memories of debates I used to have about the genre with people . The question of who was the best reggae artist always sprang up. I did then and I still do maintain that even if Burning Spear , Culture , King Tubby , Joe Higgs , Ernest Ranglin , Roland Alphonso , The Skatelites , and thousands more were influential and brilliant Jamaican music artists , and even if He was led onto a more rock road than his roots Bredren , Nesta Robert Marley blew the tits off them all ! I know it's trendy and self promoting to spout about him not being as good as pure reggae artists like Dennis Brown or the Sons of Negus. But he was still better. Sorry music snobs but I've listened to Ska , reggae , bluebeat , lovers rock , et al since the early seventies and nobody has touched old Bob for songwriting , vocals , charisma and influence. Tragic early death of a true Legend.
