That 'Idles' tune just reminded me of it. That riff sticks in the head for some reason - and the guitar solo at the end is epic. I've not actually checked out his other stuff, probably should.

This morning I took delivery of a new piece of audio (for myself anyway) Dartzeel CTH-8550 integrated amplifier, first impressions are very favourable. Then as a penance the dog had a trip to vet's for a thorn in the paw, a clear case of pleasure / pain principle

Ooh Dartzeel. Never heard any of their kit, someone said that it was a little coloured, but I wouldn't particularly trust their judgement.
Be good to hear your long term impressions. Build quality looks second to none.

Today I realised my Vinyl rig is quite good. I have the "Live and Dangerous" album by Thin Lizzy on Digital and Vinyl now, and the Vinyl, that arrived yesterday, absolutely obliterates it. Gotta love some Vinyl!

Today I..... Listened to my first Nimbus Records mastercut album. WOW, what a massive step up in realism. No wonder a Nimbus Sgt Peppers goes for four figures.

I've been thinking about idler TTs for a while , everything I've heard about them seems to point to me liking their sound. Never heard one mind . I do have form for this sort of idiocy/curiosity/impetuousness/bloody mindedness * as I am in the middle of a Tannoy Eaton-a-like project having never heard any sort of Tannoy speaker in my life (as far as I can recall) So today I decided to investigate and consider buying a Lenco GL 75 over the next couple of months, something that needs some tlc so I can tinker with it over the winter. Seems a safer bet than forking out mega money for a Garrard or Thorens. They seem reasonably priced , even on the bay. Will be sometime after September I guess. So if you don't hear from me for a while it will be because I am over on Lenco Heaven doing some "research" *cough*. *delete as appropriate!

Gotta love some Vinyl! . . . .. .. Unfortunately it was a studio album. Only about one hundredth of it was live. A bit of drumming put in to ease the concience. . The rest was all produced in the studio. A fake live album I'm afraid. Still...a good un.

Just back from a gentle stroll with mutley complete with stylish paw protector!
The gold box is showing signs of greatness in the system levels of transparency and articulation are quite something so far more than happy.
Must be upfront here I did go and listen to this amplifier in the previous owners system, and it did sound a dryer than it does with my Quadrals, however the previous owners front end components out price mine by a factor of 10
Sound now has a flow to the way it is reproduced which is quite addictive.
My listening is now on hold for a few hours while some reworking of the back garden is required with an impending visit to the local tip

Nothing wrong with Lenco's I'll probably end up digging mine out again when the new Italian motor starts to be delivered.

Cool, it seems a cost effective way to try an idler. Yep. You'll spend HOURS and HOURS pondering what to do if you purchase one. Give me a call or email if you ever fancy modding one. I've done 5 or 6 now and I have an idea for a new project, maybe 2021.

After September I'll start looking for suitable candidates to purchase. In the meantime I'll start reading up on them. Cheers EN.

There has been a booze ban here for quite a while, it was lifted on Monday, today I bought a 5 man can (5lt box) called so because 5 can get pissed on it of dry white, 6 quid in your money, I am to say the least slightly pissed.

Today I turned my system on for the first time in over two weeks. I forgot how good it sounds after listening to music on whatever source I could find over the last two weeks during my holiday.
