Great subject, great man. I don’t know hw I missed this thread. I’d love one of his amps too, but likewise, it’s probably unlikely to be an ambition I can fulfil.

Big problem the amps use hard to source and very expensive NOS valves.
These amps as desirable as they may be, are for people with lots of folding cash to burn.
As a side note ran my 750 quid Line Magnetic 211IA up against a 5,000 quid Leben CS 600. on the Klipsch KG 4's.
Verdict, every body there preferred the Line Magnetic it was not fussy what type of music it played, it had more boogie, was faster, and had considerably more bass slam, tops about the same mid range ditto.
The KG 4's are 94db and are far from a bass shy speakers.
So like most things you end up paying for the brand prestige. Still if you got the money why not I certainly would.
Fortunately for a member of the politariate like myself, there are plenty of goods out there that give more than their fair share of bang for the buck.

Less so after reading a few “not exactly glowing” reports, still, I love the build. Line Magnetic seem way more expensive than £750 in the UK. Not sure where I’d strat with their amps if I dabble.

I bought the Amp 2013 when our exchange rate was far more favorable. Price here now would be 1,223 UK Pound.

Ken Shindo or Ken Ishiwata ? Mmm mmm🤔 Marantz? ? Mmm mmm indeed. Apples and Pears Jammy. Apples and folk who inflict ear damage, more like. I often wonder if Ishiwata needed his ears cleaning because everything he touched was bright to the point of needing ear defenders.
