I'd sooner put the money towards one of Colin's beefy Class A jobs!

Never thought I'd say this about a piece of equipment that you like, but it looks tatty to me.

A few scratches and scrapes on it but it is 40 years old. Asking way too much for it. £1200 would be more realistic.

Never thought I'd say this about a piece of equipment that you like, but it looks tatty to me. Condition could be a lot better but I was really commenting on the build quality. If I got that particular one, I would need to attend to the bumps and bruises.

It was God's way of saying big speakers aren't everything.
Remember two models using Volt drivers reviewed in Hi Fi Answers. One was the Kord Vulcan, and the other was from the same manufacturer but can't remember what the model was. Not sure if either were 18" drivers. I suppose one must have been as there was only two sizes, I think. The other might have been 15".

They would have been a perfect basis for my open baffle quad sub project. Guess I'll have to go with the LAb 12s.

Not seen any Cello gear in the flesh for may years. Mark Levinson was involved in this if I recall.

No thanks! I'll stick to the more simple hifi gear.

I couldn't be doing looking at that 7 days a week.
Looks like it comes from the Spinal Tap School of Aesthetics & Design.

I think there were two Sugdens, not connected. So the speakers may not be from the same Sugden that make the amps. Geoff will probably know.

J E Sugden make the well known mainly Class A amps and there was A R Sugden who made Connoisseur turntables and other items and went out of business in the eighties as I recall. Both made speakers at one time or another, those in question here are by J E Sugden (it's marked on the back). I'd guess these are rare, as I've never seen them before. The drivers look nice quality, could be Morel units.
