I really ought to bring my Kenwood KD 750 down from the loft. Arm rewired many moons by Audio origami, Achromat and OC9 mk1 Don’t know where to price it though?

That ones pristine, don't know the condition of the one Steve has, but £500 in his pocket is better than nothing if only one bid is made.

Now...what shall I sell him 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Lol. 😅 Interestingly if that deck is described as pristine, then I reckon mine is pristine plus. No chips in the veneer, no cracked arm thingy. Oh… and the biggest plus of all is that I had it repaired/recapped/ overhauled/serviced by that chap in Leigh. I’ll look it all up, but basically I’ve got a list of all the replacement components that cured a speed issue. Thinking about it.. not sure that £500 really covers it. Trouble is at the moment is that the cost of living crisis is real. It’s not a seller’s market

stevew Is your KD750 in the same 'stable' as the KP9010, KP990, KD7010 which I think are all pretty much the same, if so you could increase the starting bid to £750, if it doesn't sell you can drop the price. Like you said the cost of living crisis has hit 2nd hand prices. If you've got any other tt's kicking about, stick them on ebay, plus any those large old black plastic discs people used to store music on in the dark ages as well.

Haha.. no idea where the KD750 sits in relation to other Kenwood models. I bought it years ago from Hugo (now owner of Ammonite Audio). Years later when it developed a speed stability issue, I discovered the chap who now runs PR Audio over in Leigh. He stripped and recapped it with decent quality components. I remember when I first had it, I wanted to compare it to a Linn Sondek I had at the time, as well as an original Roksan Xerxes. These were the days when the Linn PR machine had all convinced that Japanese direct drive machines could not compete with belt drive turntables How wrong that was. The deception was well done. The Kenwood was majestic, only supplanted eventually by an SP10 sprinkled with magic dust by Angus. Turns out you don’t need mood enhancing drugs to give yourself a big fat smile. Just play one of those bits of plastic (or ‘vinyls’ as my son’s generation call them- Jesus).

Not surprised.. it’s gone! Terrific things.. have one in the kitchen. It’s also now Roon compatible… but I can no longer receive bbc through Roon. However with the WiiM, the app allows direct streaming from bbc. Brilliance.

stevew. Have to agree with Oli, that's a beauty. Unfortunately I don't think it is one of the models with a skeleton base which I believe are still highly sought after, and I did think about getting one myself, quite a few years ago.

Well I wouldn’t necessarily jump to the conclusion that the skeleton base is superior. The plinth of the kd750 is very heavy and what Kenwood termed ARCB - Anti-Resonance Compression Base. It is used in the L-07D and is a mixture of ground limestone and polyester.

I bought it... I was wondering if it'll be salvageable, so took a punt on it. It'll be great if it just needs refinishing and lacquer. However, if it is bent or warped it'll have to be returned. I can't believe how battered it looks though, looks like it's been tossed around a garage for a few weeks. A little update... The Puresound Tenuto mat arrived about a week ago, but I have been away. I unpacked it today and am very pleased. It actually looks much better than the pics on the Ebay advert. I would've have been annoyed if I'd paid £300+, but given the price, this is a bargain! It is not bent or warped in any way and would sound perfect as is. It does have cosmetic issues, but these should be straightforward to sort. There are various small scratches and some areas of tanish where the lacquer has worn off. The darker areas are not visible 'by eye' and it is only something the camera seems to pick up. The darker areas on this pic are not visible by eye: I shall refinish and re-lacquer it before the music room is ready and the hifi comes back out! Can't wait to hear it and see it sparkling on the SP10. 😀

Nice aren't they. Overpriced due to rarity and condition, but someone will buy it. I probably would if I had the money 🤣 Always wanted to try one. Good find, Dave.

Oh yes. It’s not bonkers money either. If I sold my kidneys I expect they would be returned as not fit for purpose.

"very nice hana cartridge not included" - rubbing your nose in it a bit aren't they Also would expect the cart for that price to be fair. I don't know much about those arms but seems a tad overpriced to me . . .

They were not that helpful, however, to be fair, they accepted a sensible offer from me and it arrived quickly and well packaged. Good spot on the non included cartridge Chris

Good spot on the non included cartridge Chris Me too . . . and traded stuff in to them. Nice chaps overall to be fair, I think they are fairly short and abrupt with answers (and descriptions etc) as it gives them a few more outs if something goes wrong with the sale or there is an issue with the equipment. Just playing devils advocate here of course but I do get why they do that becasue second hand hifi is unreliable a fair amount of the time and they have a business buying and selling (with a great deal of that going through eBay). ie: they need to protect their feedback and limit the potantial for people to leave bad reviews/feedback etc, so they keep things to a minimum. I get that approach as long as they are civil and honest, which I found them to be to be fair.
