Judie Tzuke did a wonderful version of 'God Only Knows' which is beautiful to me...
Tina Turner did 'I Can't Stand The Rain' and 'Missing You' and these were good.
On the other hand, Mick Hucknell absolutely annihilated 'Ev'ry Time You Go Away' i remember - bloody whining scalded cat voice.... Ella made that song soar!

Ultimate Beatles cover. 'I Am The Walrus' by Spooky Tooth. I loved the original Beatles version, but Spooky Tooth improved on this.
Check it out on YouTube:

Crap ones don't stay in my head but a few brilliant ones...
The Raincoats doing Lola by The Kinks
Johnny Cash doing Hurt by Nine Inch Nails
The Clash doing Police On My Back by The Equals
The Pogues doing And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda by Eric Bogle
The Wedding Present doing Come Up & See Me Make Me Smile by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel

I can't even reconcile this as the same mad, insane song...
Glad we're all different and get different vibes from 'stuff' in general... The original is probably one of my all time top five of all time - and I seriously don't know why...
