I store all of my CDs and Vinyl that I use in a under stairs cupboard. Unsused Vinyl are in the loft (and will probably be sold shortly) and DVDs are taken out fo their boxes and put into a suitcase and the boxes discarded.
How about you?

What's that then lol Yes, I find CD storage a proper ball ache. I have recently been gifted 4 huge boxes full of the things and have no idea what to do with them. I may keep them in a garage and build some super cheap racking system

CDs are ripped to file based audio, and stored elsewhere.
Vinyl isnstored in an Ikea rack, next to the point of use.
I may need a bigger rack soon....

1 big bookshelf in an alcove. All the vinyl just about fits on two shelves. CDs used to fit on the other 3 shelves but since I started replicating my vinyl albums on CD they have now overflowed and the new CDs are stacked up on top of the turntable. Not exactly ideal. I've been looking for one of those tall cd rack thingies, used to see loads of them in the local charity shops but when you want one - nothing.
DVDs are on another, smaller bookshelf with a DVD racking thing on top. That long since overflowed even with them stacked two deep and now they are piled up on the floor in front of it. One day I'll get organised.

IKEA. I heard that they'd stopped making them but LP lovers bombarded them and they changed their minds. Might be an urban myth though. The rest are in the attic in "oops" plastic boxes. 😟 In my defense I did buy them about 30 years ago. But I don't go in there cos of the three foot long spiders. 🥴 Edit.....four feet long spiders.

That's a lot of records. Mine would fit comfortably on one row of that. Nevertheless I sometimes have younger civilians round who are amazed at the amount of 'vinyls' I have. They'd probably have a heart attack if they saw your collection.

Unused vinyl? What's that then lol I have a bunch of Classical albums I was given from my Dad which I have never listen to and unlikely will, so possibly going to see if I can sell them on.

Classical lovers were all swayed by he silent digital backgrounds. It's possibly the only genre of music that has sound benefits from being produced by a computer.

I've given up going through them, sick of seeing the same ugly mugs gurning up at me.

Spot on. Was a lady on Facebook offering a decent sized box of readers digest LPs Wanted £100 I messaged her and said she'd be lucky to get 10% of that price. She claimed they were sold. Today, they were on for £10 I sis chuckle

Then there are the charity shops that have cottoned on & (try to) sell anything halfway decent in terms of content at what they think they're worth, usually for what an excellent copy might sell for whereas their sad example has a torn cover & usually no inner sleeve. I know it's all in a good cause but there are limits.
